Né en 1969, vit et travaille à Paris. Bruno Rousseaud élit depuis une vingtaine d’années le champ automobile comme invariant plastique.
Born in 1969, lives and works in Paris. For the past twenty years, Bruno Rousseaud has chosen the automotive field as a plastic invariant. From this coherent formal universe, from which the artist extracts components, emerges a set of polymorphous, deceptively familiar works, made up of license plates, sanded hoods and reflective windshields, piles of riveted tires and incised mirrors. Erected as sculptures or mimicking paintings, the works hijack the automobile axiom and welcome pictograms, oxymorons and borrowed formulas, as well as a few imperious qualifiers that betray the breakthrough of a singular language.
