Pauline d'Andigné

Born in France in 1996, Pauline d’Andigné belongs to a new generation of artists redefining the possibilities of painting by confronting it with materials, printing processes and the visual codes of contemporary society. She graduated with honours from the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2021, following studies at ECAL in Lausanne and a period at Cooper Union in New York. She lives and works in Paris.

At the heart of her practice lies a reflection on desire, consumption, the proliferation of images and the ambiguities of our visual environment. Drawing equally from the language of advertising, industry and decoration, Pauline d’Andigné creates works in which saturated colours, material effects, transparencies and superimpositions produce a space oscillating between seduction and strangeness.

Painting remains the starting point of her research, which unfolds through a wide range of techniques. Screen printing, oil pastel, acrylic, monotype, vinyl, metal and resin interact within a single body of work, where the boundaries between painting, object and installation become porous. This experimental approach forms part of a broader reflection on the transformations of image and material in the contemporary world.

Her work quickly attracted attention on both the French and international art scenes. Following several solo exhibitions at the Ketabi Bourdet gallery, she has also presented her work at the Weiss Endowment Fund, Maison Guerlain, the Musée des Beaux-Arts d’Angers, La Samaritaine and Piero Atchugarry Gallery in Miami. Her recent exhibitions reflect the growing recognition of her work among institutions, collectors and contemporary art professionals.

Represented by the Ketabi Bourdet gallery since 2022, Pauline d’Andigné continues to pursue a practice in which painting becomes a field of permanent experimentation. Her work renews the legacy of Pop Art, Bad Painting and contemporary abstraction while developing a deeply personal visual language grounded in materiality, excess and the ambivalence of images.
