Elizabeth Garouste, born Rochline in Paris in 1949 and whos calls herself a "creator of objects", is an extraordinarily prolif and protean artist.
Known as a designer for 30 years on the international scene, in duet for twenty-two years with the creator Mattia Bonetti with whom she renewed the French decorative arts mixing influences (especially the eighteeth century) with freedom and inventiveness, Elizabeth Garouste is also a visual artist: sculptures, drawings, collages... She created her own symbolic universe, charged with imagination. In her works on paper, pencilled like an automatic writing, we find demons and wonders, a free woman who reveals with audacity her secrets, her dreams and her anxieties.
